You Look at me Like I’m Crazy.
Let me open up this post by saying that the weather here in San Francisco has been the absolute epitome of perfection for the past two days, and after an insanely rainy winter we’ve had I think we deserve it! The sunshine and the warmth has definitely put me in a happy-springy mood so I kind of went all out with my outfit today. It was such a beautiful day that I walked to and from school in heels! Simply wearing heels in kind of unheard of for me, and walking more than a mile in heals is totally mind-blowing. It was definitely worth it though.
I thoroughly enjoyed my outdoors time today, but I can’t even tell you how many looks that strangers gave me on the street. As if I care. It takes a special person to understand my style. One of my favorite bloggers is the Man Repeller. I feel like we are kindred spirits, but with one big difference. She starts off with super sexy “man-getter” outfits and transforms them into “man-repelling” ones. I, on the other hand, don’t even start off with sexy pieces… my basics are like this harem-panted-high-waisted-poly-cotton-floral-romper. You can’t deny that I’m a sex-pot and it’s no wonder that the boys are banging down my door. oh yea.

And now for your viewing pleasure, a little dance a la moi:
These pictures just go toward strengthening 2 thoughts that have been stuck in my head lately. 1: When I take outfit pictures I need to do it earlier or later in the day so the sun isn’t too blaring and I’m not so squinty. (I know I look super awesome with that expression on my face!) 2: I need a haircut. If you follow me on twitter then you’ve probably seen this pic already. Last night I tweeted:
My hair is starting to take over my face!! Hopefully I’ll be able to get this mess taken care of soon! I don’t know where to go in SF though. Anyone out there have suggestions?
Also on twitter, yesterday I won 2 tickets from SF Indie Fashion to Appel & Frank’s Spring into Style event. I figured that it might be a good networking opportunity, and if it turned out to be a bust then at least there was going to be free wine and a goodie bag! There were definitely some cool things there (mostly jewelry) but pretty much everything that I liked was way too pricey for my measly budget, and everything I could afford I didn’t really care for. I definitely stuck out like a sore thumb in the crowd of mostly older women that was in attendance (but I have to admit, in this outfit how can I now stand out everywhere I go?).
I did the rounds and I was about to leave, but I was drawn back to the feather extension booth. My sister had one in her hair when I was home over winter break and I thought it was kinda cute. I know, I know, they’re super trendy right now and are just about everywhere you turn in salons and online. I was WAY AHEAD of this trend though, for real. To prove it here’s picture of me from the winter of 2007 with feather in my hair!
It’s not exactly the same as the current trend, but I was definitely onto something at the time. Here’s what I had done today:
Super cute, don’t you think?!? And it was only $10!! They told me that the feathers would take on the wave of my hair, so we’ll see how that goes. I hope it happens sooner than later.
